It all started
in 1993 in Częstochowa
A future
that is plant-based.
We have ideas, a committed team and the courage to do things that do not exist yet.
From university to business
Those are the foundations of today’s company. From day one he has one aim: to make innovative food with a clean recipe and absolutely no compromises.
Tripe, lecso and wild ideas
The first plant-based meat alternatives appear on the Polish market. Soy tripe, lecso, beans Breton-style.All based on soy, which was fashionable then. The products existed.
The recipes were there.
But the market was not ready yet.
Marek had a vision. He made what he believed in.
The market still had to catch up.
Years ahead of its time
The company grew. Breakfast products appeared, roasted grains, biscuits, certified organic products, even a gluten-free brand. A solid base, steady growth.
A new generation, new energy
Karolina, Marek’s daughter, and her husband Michał join the company. Fresh blood, as they put it themselves. They knew the firm from the inside, but looked at the market from another angle.
They noticed that the market lacked a snack that was both tasty and good for you.
That is how the fruit and nut bars came about. Simple. Natural. And practically unheard of on the Polish market at the time. The bars opened the door. We reached a wide audience and started thinking bigger. It was time for something more.
Sprouts, oyster mushrooms and a patent that changed everything
We went back to meat alternatives. This time with the right ingredients and at the right moment. While researching and looking for a main ingredient, we came across sprouts. Sprouts are a superfood, packed with nutrients. It turned out we were the only ones in the world, so we patented this technology.
The second ingredient, just as important: oyster mushrooms. A wonderful texture that naturally resembles meat. An unlikely choice. And that is exactly why it works.
Food should nourish us. That is the idea behind Dobra Kaloria.
The first day of plant-based alternatives on the shelves
The first day of spring. Our plant-based alternatives to meat products appeared on shop shelves
What happened in the first two weeks went beyond our wildest expectations. Hundreds of comments every day. Meat-eaters who would never have reached for plant-based reached for it. And came back.
We had barely caught our breath when a wave of orders hit us. Our reaction was immediate: we grew the crew, we expanded the plant.
By the end of the year, Dobra Kaloria burgers took first place in a poll for the best plant-based product of the year.
Further growth,
including abroad
In 2022 Kubara joined forces in a strategic partnership with the Mokate group, one of the largest Polish privately owned food companies, exporting to more than 70 countries. The partnership did not only strengthen the company, it opened the way abroad. Under the Good Calories brand our products appear in Czechia, Spain and Hungary. We also grow the range: every year about 15-20 of our new products reach the shelves.
The vision was right
He already had the first idea for plant-based meat alternatives in 1997. Soy tripe, beans Breton-style, soy-based products. The market was not ready.
The vision was right. It was a dozen years ahead of the market. Today what Marek came up with sells in Lidl, Biedronka and Kaufland across Poland

Fresh blood,
the same values
Karolina came into the company with an outside view, but with Kubara DNA. She is the one who pushed the brand in the direction you see today on the shelves at Lidl, Biedronka and Kaufland. Bars, burgers, oyster mushrooms.
When the market started chasing plant-based, she already had finished products, a patent and a production line.
Today she does not only run the company. She sits on the climate committee at Business Centre Club. She works with the Często Zielona initiative. She was named in the „Twarze Przyszłości” project as a young person who has a vision and carries it out.
